Dump Trailer Rental Deposit and Damages Agreement

Security Deposit

The renter agrees to pay a refundable security deposit of $__________ before taking possession of the trailer.

The security deposit will be returned within _____ days after the trailer is returned, provided that:

  • The trailer is returned on time.
  • The trailer is returned in the same condition as when rented, excluding normal wear and tear.
  • No additional rental fees, cleaning charges, damage costs, or other outstanding balances remain.

Damages and Repairs

The renter accepts full responsibility for any damage occurring during the rental period, including but not limited to:

  • Bent or damaged frame
  • Damaged tongue or coupler
  • Broken lights or wiring
  • Tire or wheel damage resulting from misuse
  • Hydraulic system damage
  • Tailgate, ramp, or latch damage
  • Damage caused by overloading or improper loading
  • Interior or exterior structural damage

The renter agrees to pay the full cost of repairs or replacement for any damage beyond normal wear and tear.

If repair costs exceed the security deposit, the renter agrees to pay the remaining balance upon receipt of an invoice.

Prohibited Uses

The renter agrees not to:

  • Exceed the trailer's maximum load capacity.
  • Tow the trailer with an improperly rated vehicle.
  • Use the trailer for illegal activities.
  • Operate the trailer while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
  • Allow anyone without a valid driver's license to tow the trailer.
  • Modify, weld, drill, or alter the trailer in any way.

Tire, Wheel, and Road Hazard Damage

The renter is responsible for damage caused by curbs, potholes, overloading, improper inflation, road hazards resulting from negligence, or any accident occurring during the rental period.

Cleaning

The trailer must be returned free of debris and reasonably clean. Excessive cleaning may result in a cleaning fee of $__________.

Loss or Theft

The renter is responsible for the replacement value of the trailer and any accessories if they are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair while in the renter's possession.

Inspection

Both parties acknowledge that the trailer has been inspected before the rental and that any existing damage has been documented.

Authorization

The renter authorizes the rental company to deduct any unpaid rental charges, cleaning fees, damage costs, or late fees from the security deposit. Any remaining balance owed by the renter remains due upon demand.

By signing below, the renter acknowledges that they have read, understand, and agree to the terms of this Deposit and Damages Agreement.
